Navigating the planning process 

The planning process can be complex, confusing and is often stressful, with new guidelines, policies and legislation being frequently introduced. For example, the Scottish Government introduced National Planning Framework 4 (NPF4) in February 2023 which places new requirements for all developments, including householder developments, to contribute to the enhancement of biodiversity, minimise lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to risks from climate change. 

 

Having someone who can navigate through what is often referred to as the ‘planning jungle’ and being able to understand the ‘planners language' could be difference between an approval or a refusal.
